The MLK Chorale History

The MLK Chorale, organized by Dr. Cathy Roma and Bishop Todd O’Neal in 1992, has performed for audiences annually since its founding. Following Dr. Roma’s 20-year tenure, Steve Milloy served as the director for 5 years. Lois Shegog took up the director’s baton for MLK Day 2019.

In addition to its yearly MLK performance, the Chorale performed for the dedication of the Freedom Center in 2004, and won 2 gold awards at the World Choir Games in 2012. They are often invited to perform for other occasions throughout the year, especially to honor Dr. King.
