The MLK Coalition is excited to announce the details for our 2023 program!
MLK DAY HEALTH SCREENINGS
Begins at 10:00 a.m.
TriHealth is working to meet patients where they are on their health journey. By partnering with community organizations like the MLK Coalition, they are making it easier for community members and team members to access healthcare and improve their health. Trihealth is our "Honor King Program Book Sponsor." In partnership with TriHealth, the MLK Coalition is grateful to be able to provide an opportunity for health care screenings.
As Dr. King moved forward with his plans for a poor people's campaign, he was concerned about the many aspects of life that were disproportionately available to the wealthy but not the poor. Today's struggle for equal access to health care would be on his list of essential rights. In keeping with Dr. King's legacy, the MLK Coalition's partner TriHealth will be providing health screenings such as Blood Pressure and BMI. They will also have health education materials related to stroke.
They will be on site in Music Hall from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM on MLK Day, January 16.
Commemorative March with Prayer Services
Begins at 10:30 a.m.
Gather outside the Freedom Center, where an interdenominational prayer service begins our solemn and spirit-filled re-enactment of the civil rights era marches for equality, dignity and justice.
The march concludes at Washington park with an additional prayer service. The complimentary Rosa Parks Bus provides rides for those who cannot walk a mile uphill in the cold.
MLK Day Commemorative Program
Begins at 12:00 p.m.
Our annual event in Music Hall features the award-winning MLK Chorale, guest performers, and an inspirational speaker.
There will also be an opportunity to give (cash or via text) for those who are able to support future programs.
